As someone who recently reintroduced Tretinoin into my skincare routine, my skin has been undergoing significant adjustments. The sensitivity, dehydration, and stinging sensation have become daily challenges. In this phase, the Skin1004 Madagascar Centella line has proven to be a true lifesaver, offering the care and comfort my skin desperately needs.
If you are dealing with a compromised barrier for any reason — retinoids, over-exfoliation, or just a rough winter — this is the line I keep coming back to. Here is how each piece of it performed.
Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam
A cleanser that doesn’t strip my face and leave it feeling tight is a rarity for me. The Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Ampoule Foam not only meets this criteria but exceeds expectations. I love the unique texture and how well it foams up! It leaves my skin so clean and refreshed.
Skin1004 Madagascar Ampoule
On days when even my most gentle skincare causes a bit of stinging, the Skin1004 Madagascar Ampoule is a lifesaver. This ampoule not only soothes but hydrates my sensitive skin, bringing a quick and calming relief. The ampoule has become a staple in my routine, especially during times when my skin needs extra care and attention.
Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Enrich Cream
The Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Probio-Cica Enrich Cream is ideal for angry, sensitive skin. Though slightly heavy, it effectively hydrates and protects my skin as I sleep. The noticeable reduction in redness and irritation each morning is very impressive. While too heavy for daytime wear under makeup, it has quickly become one of my favorite soothing night creams.

Key ingredients and what they do
Probio-Cica (fermented Centella + probiotics): fermented Centella combined with probiotics provides soothing, repairing, and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Ceramides: improve your skin barrier and moisture retention, promoting a healthier and more resilient complexion.
Tiger grass extract: the soothing and barrier-strengthening properties help to reduce redness and keep reactive skin calm.
Nourishing oil blend: shea butter, moringa oil, and macadamia seed oils provide intense hydration, moisture and nourishment.
Texture and first impressions
As a first-time user of Skin1004’s Probio-Cica line, this moisturizer has been an incredible addition to my skincare routine. The gentle yet very hydrating formula made a noticeable difference in reducing skin redness after just one use. The unique texture, resembling fine threads when stretched, absorbs effortlessly, leaving the skin feeling hydrated and plumped. It is also alcohol and fragrance-free, making it an ideal choice for those with sensitive or reactive skin looking for a gentle and effective moisturizer.

Who this line suits
Based on how it performed on my skin: this line is worth a look if you are barrier-compromised, reactive, or adjusting to a retinoid, and you want soothing rather than actives. The Enrich Cream in particular is a night-time product on my skin — it is too rich to sit under makeup during the day.
If you like what SKIN1004 does here, it is also worth reading my COMMONLABS review — it is SKIN1004’s sister brand, and the formulations overlap more than you might expect. For other calming options, my Korean soothing gels comparison and Dr. Jart+ Cicapair review cover the same problem from different angles.
